Christmas Store Holiday Hours

The 25th day of December is Christmas Day.  On Christmas Day, the majority of stores, restaurants, malls, and shopping centers are closed. However, they might have fewer or shorter hours of operation at some stores due to the holiday.

Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed primarily on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world.

BARS and CLUBS are OPEN on Christmas Day.

Some BIG BOX STORES are CLOSED on Christmas Day.

CASUAL RESTAURANTS are OPEN on Christmas Day.

Some CONVENIENCE STORES are CLOSED on Christmas Day. Many locations are open 24 hours, even on holidays.

FAST FOOD RESTAURANTS are OPEN on Christmas Day. Some fast food restaurants may vary.

GROCERY STORES are CLOSED on Christmas Day.  If they are open, store hours may vary.

GOVERNMENT OFFICES are CLOSED on Christmas Day. Nearly all federal, state, county, and city agencies are closed on Christmas .

LIQUOR STORES may be CLOSED on Christmas Day. This depends on which state and/or city you are located in.

MOVIE THEATERS are CLOSED on Christmas Day. (Check your local theaters)

PHARMACIES and DRUG STORES are CLOSED on Christmas Day.

POST OFFICE (USPS) is CLOSED on Christmas Day. There is no mail delivery on Christmas Day.

SHOPPING MALLS AND MALL ANCHOR STORES are CLOSED  on Christmas Day.

SCHOOLS are CLOSED on Christmas Day: grade schools, middle schools, high schools, colleges, universities, etc.

STOCK MARKET is CLOSED on Christmas Day.
